What's Missing from Teenage Development?

Between increased pressures from school, social networks, family life, and the trials and tribulations of self-discovery, being a teenager can be one of the most challenging times in life. What's missing for most teenagers during this intense time of growth are tools that support them from the inside, out.

Conventional educational technology focuses on teaching methods by teachers and learning methods by students. Pl has a unique holistic approach to educational technology and attributes difficulties experienced in learning to the learner's brain anatomy and physiology. Often times, traditional curriculum and delivery methodologies fail to recognize the different cognitive, emotional and behavioral make-up of the students in the classroom. The overall role of the students' brain functionality has been overlooked by most educational systems.

Conventional Education

The Phonemic IntelligenceSM (PI) Difference

Phonemic Intelligence for Teens is specially designed to empower pre-teens and teens with confidence, clarity, and holistic health. Unlike conventional education that depends on adding or integrating knowledge, PI is designed to activate dormant intelligence that already exists within the brain. This is made possible via exclusive sound-technology demonstrated to stimulate specific areas of the brain that effect at least thirty three key learning and behavior competencies.

Phonemic Intelligence Research and Testing

Field Test

Five years of consistent PI practice by fifty young boys living in extreme poverty in India resulted in a 75% success rate in college attendance and graduation. A second program initiated shortly after for thirty girls living in the same conditions produced a 100% success rate in moving on to attend and graduate from college.

World-Class Brain Study

Research conducted at Brain Science International by co-founder Jay Gunkelman confirmed that PI activates a key area of the brain known as the Anterior Cingulate, which acts as a fulcrum that controls the activity between the frontal lobes and limbic system (center of emotions and motivations, especially related to survival, fear, anger, and pleasure) and also houses a special class of super-intelligent neurons called Von Economo neurons.

Published Medical Research

Medical students at SRM University in Chennai, India practiced PI for six weeks before their medical exams, resulting in improved academic scores, reduced stress hormones, and better coping skills (Indian Journal of Medical Science, 2010).

Ongoing Research

We currently have five ongoing Phonemic Intelligence studies taking place in different parts of the world, including field and lab studies for both children and adults. We are also currently partnering with Harvard University in an upcoming study slated to research how PI impacts the brain.

PI Has Been Helping Students for Over a Decade

To date, almost twenty-three thousand children in public schools and after-school programs in the U.S., India, and Mexico have been trained in Phonemic IntelligenceSM.
Transformational results have been reported such as:

  • Rising test scores
  • Increased self-confidence
  • Increased compassion
  • Increase positive classroom behavior
  • Improved decision-making skills
  • Improved focus and comprehension
  • Reduced behavioral issues
